Wockhardt Hospitals & Indane Gas Give you the Recipes for a Healthy Heart

In a country of about 1.13 billion people we have a Cardiac Burden of 20 per cent of the world’s population and may be one of the regions with the highest burden of CVD in the world with a total of 29.8 million affected. and alone in the estimated metropolitan population of 7 million of Hyderabad almost 30% are burdened by the disease. Worst affected are our gen x who are currently working in the software industry.

This World Health Day, Wockhardt Hospitals in association with IOCL, AP State have come out with a direct and simple plan to make a difference to this figure. On 8th of April 2008 they launched together the Healthy heart Recipe Booklet, a simple compilation of tasty yet heart healthy recipes to keep away from Heart Disease. These Booklets would be distributed through the IOCL Distribution network and are expected to reach over 6-lakh households in Hyderabad. Along with this booklet there is a Health checkup coupon, which would allow the Indane customer to avail over 75% discount on a Heart Checkup, including consultation with a Cardiologist.

And it is astonishing to think about it, because to quite some extent this Killer disease is preventable, simple things like eating healthy, quitting smoking and getting yourself regularly checked, could go a long way to protect your heart. I know 6 lakh household people is quite less when we are looking at a city population which is so big. But it’s more important that through these people we proliferate the message of good health to all.”
